本場講座旨在引導參與教師重新思考語言教材之角色與功能地位，探討將學術與專業識讀能力（academic and specialized literacies）融入專業英語教學之必要性與可行方式。本講座並將以香港兩所大學的醫學英語課程為例，分析醫學領域ESP教材與課程之設計理念與教學目標，期望為貴校醫學英語教育之教材與課程設計提出建議方向。

講者簡介：Born and bred in Tainan, Greg earned his PhD in applied linguistics at the University of Hong Kong (HKU). His research focuses on English across the curriculum, ESP/CLIL teacher development, and EAP/ESP pedagogy in EMI settings. Currently, he works for the Centre for Applied English Studies (CAES) at HKU, teaching undergraduate and postgraduate academic/disciplinary literacy courses and supervising MA dissertations and portfolios. Before joining CAES, he taught undergraduate ESP courses and postgraduate workshops at the Chinese University of Hong Kong.
